Citrix Workspace app provides the full capabilities of Citrix Receiver, as well as new capabilities based on your organization’s Citrix deployment. Citrix Workspace app is built on Citrix Receiver technology, and is fully backward compatible with all Citrix solutions. Find the latest releases here. Citrix Workspace app incorporates the full capabilities of Citrix Receiver and lays the groundwork for new capabilities for future Citrix releases as well as the comprehensive Citrix Workspace. Specific lifecycle milestone dates for each release of the Citrix Workspace app and Citrix Receiver are posted within the Lifecycle dates for section. Citrix also released Citrix Workspace app as the replacement of Citrix Receiver. Citrix Workspace app is a new client from Citrix that works similar to Citrix Receiver, and is fully backward-compatible. Citrix Workspace app is an easy-to-install client application that provides secure and seamless access to your apps, files, and desktops. It is free to download and use. Steps we need to follow to configure Receiver/Workspace app from GPO.

Instructions

Step 1: Importing Receiver/Workspace app's admx and adml template to Policy Definitions on Domain Controller
Copy Receiver.admx and Receiver.adml from C:Program Files (x86)CitrixICA ClientConfiguration and C:Program Files (x86)CitrixICA ClientConfigurationes-ES respectively
Note: Receiver.adml can be in a different directory for different language e.g. C:Program Files (x86)CitrixICA ClientConfigurationja-JP (for Japanese)
Paste Receiver.admx in %systemroot%policyDefinitions and Receiver.adml in %systemroot%policyDefinitionsen-us(for English) on Domain Controller
Open gpedit.msc or group policy management console on DC
Go to Computer Configuration>Administrative Templates>Citrix Component>Citrix Receiver>StoreFront
Enable 'NetScaler Gateway URL/StoreFront Accounts List' setting
Configuring for StoreFront URL:
Format to configure: Store Name;Store URL;Store enable state;Store Description
Store Name: Name of the store visible to users
Store URL: URL of the Store
Store enable state: If store is enable or disbale (On/Off)
Store Description: Description of Store visible to users
Example: OfficeStore;https://sf1.myurl.com/Citrix/Store/discovery;On;Store for office apps
Configuring for NetScaler URL:
Format to configure: Store Name;Store URL#Storename;Store enable state;Store Description
Example: OfficeStore;https://sf1.myurl.com#Storename;On;Store for office apps
Go to Computer Configuration>Administrative Templates>Citrix Component>Citrix Receiver>User authentication
Enable Local username and password policy
make sure to check 'Enable pass-though authentication' and 'Allow pass-through authentication for all ICA connection' in options for the policy
Citrix Workspace Citrix Receiver
Save the settings and you will be able to see that all the devices getting the policy are configured with the Store in the policy and domain pass-through will work
